Coding Challenge Leaderboard — ClearHire

See top performers across ClearHire coding challenges. Track XP, completed challenges, and ranks across the community and climb the leaderboard.

The challenges leaderboard ranks ClearHire users by XP earned in different time windows — week, month, all-time. XP comes from completing challenges, applying to jobs, gamification milestones (streak days, verified employment, referrals). The leaderboard is public by default; opt out via Settings → Privacy. It exists to add a social dimension — friendly competition with peers — that pure private tracking does not provide. The leaderboard does not affect job-application outcomes; it is purely a community / motivation feature designed to make active engagement visible and rewarding.

Use cases

  • Tracking weekly progress against peers. Weekly window resets every Monday. Friendly competition with users in your tier produces consistent engagement that pure private tracking often does not.
  • Comparing all-time engagement. All-time window shows accumulated XP across your full ClearHire history. Useful for milestone-tracking ("crossed 10K XP") and personal progress narrative.
  • Opting out for private tracking. Some users prefer private progress. Settings → Privacy → "Hide from leaderboard" removes you from public ranking. XP still accumulates; it just does not appear publicly.

How it works

  1. Open the leaderboard. Default view shows monthly window. Switch to weekly or all-time via the time-window selector.
  2. Find your rank. Your row highlights automatically when signed in. Filter by tier (your current level) for narrower comparison if the global ranking feels overwhelming.
  3. Use it for motivation, not pressure. The leaderboard is intended as a positive motivation signal. If it produces stress rather than motivation, opt out — it does not improve any outcomes.
  4. Opt out anytime. Settings → Privacy → "Hide from leaderboard". Toggle is reversible; opt back in if your preference changes.

Examples

  • A candidate using the leaderboard as weekly motivation. Sets a personal weekly XP goal. Engages with challenges and tracker logging more consistently. Six weeks in, sees clear ranking improvement. The competition framing produces engagement that solo tracking did not.

Frequently asked questions

What does the challenges leaderboard show?

Users ranked by XP earned in different time windows — week, month, all-time. Earned XP comes from completing challenges, applying to jobs, gamification milestones. Public by default; opt out via Settings → Privacy.

Why does ClearHire have a leaderboard at all?

Visible progress motivates active engagement. The leaderboard adds a social dimension — friendly competition with peers — that pure private tracking does not. It does not affect job-application outcomes; it is purely a community / motivation feature.

Can I opt out of the leaderboard?

Yes. Settings → Privacy has a "Hide from leaderboard" toggle. Your XP still accumulates privately; it just does not appear in the public ranking.

How is XP calculated?

Standard actions (saving a resume, applying to a job, completing a challenge) award fixed XP amounts. Bonus XP comes from streaks (consecutive days), referrals, and verified employment. The exact formulas are stable; values do not adjust mid-period.

Tips

  • Three time windows: week, month, all-time. Week is most actionable; all-time is most reflective.

  • Opt out anytime via Settings → Privacy. The toggle is reversible.
  • Leaderboard does not affect job outcomes — it is a motivation feature.
  • XP formulas are stable; values do not adjust mid-period.
