A resume is a document you wrote about yourself. Everyone knows it, which is why the true parts get discounted along with the invented ones.
The usual answer is a reference call, weeks later, to a manager who has moved on. By then the decision is mostly made and the check is a formality that confirms nothing anyone was worried about.

How a role gets confirmed.
Either side can start it. Both sides see the same record, and the clock is written down.

Job title, dates, employment basis. You claim it, and nothing is published yet.

The company gets it
It lands with a verified company account. They confirm, correct the dates, or decline with a reason.

The clock runs
You start it, they get 7 days. They start it, you get 3. Silence expires the request rather than failing it.

Confirmed roles carry the mark on your profile and on any resume you choose to publish.

Silence is not an answer, so it is not recorded as one. That is the only reason the two numbers differ: you are one person deciding, and they are an organisation routing a request.
What the badge means.
One sentence long, on purpose. A trust signal that overreaches is worse than no signal at all.
It does mean
- A named person at the company confirmed this role.
- These specific dates, as the company has them.
- Employment basis, and the probation outcome where one was recorded.
- A timestamp. You can see when the confirmation happened.
It does not mean
- A background check. Nobody ran one.
- An identity guarantee. It confirms a role, not a person’s identity.
- An endorsement. The company confirmed that you worked there, not that you were good at it.
- A credit, criminal or education check. None of those exist here.

A verification is a fact two parties agreed on. That does not make it public, and it does not make it permanent.
Nothing about your employment history appears anywhere until you publish a profile or a resume link. A declined claim is never published at all, in any form, to anyone.
Deletion means deletion. It runs as one cascade, it names every store it touches, and it does not leave the tracker behind because the tracker happened to live in a different table.

Questions we actually get.
What does the verified badge actually prove?
That a named company confirmed a specific role, with specific dates. It is not a background check, not an identity guarantee, and not an endorsement of how well you did the job.
Do I need an account to use the tools?
Most of them, no. Paste something in, read the answer, close the tab. An account is needed to save results, build resumes, and claim employment.
What happens if my old employer never responds?
The request expires. A claim you started gives the company 7 days; a request the company started gives you 3 days. An expired request is marked unconfirmed, never rejected, and you can send it again.
Can a company reject a claim that is true?
They can decline it, and the decline is recorded with whatever reason they give. Nothing about a decline is published on your public profile. You can dispute it, and you can send the claim to a different verifier at the same company.
Is my resume public?
No, unless you publish it. A resume gets a public link only when you create one, and that link can be turned off again at any time.
Which platforms does ClearHire run on?
The web, and Android. There is no iOS app and no browser extension. Pro is bought on the web only; the Android app shows your plan and never sells one.
