Delete your account and everything in it

You do this yourself, from this page, and it happens immediately. There is no support ticket, no waiting period and nobody to persuade. Two categories of record survive, and both are named below before you start rather than discovered afterwards.

Three different fates, not one. Anything that claimed a single “everything is deleted” would be untrue, and the untrue part is the part that matters.

Why

Deleting a post strands every reply to it, leaving other people’s conversations answering nothing. If you want a specific post gone rather than anonymised, delete that post before you delete your account — afterwards there is no way to identify which ones were yours.

Survives your account

Two record types only. Both are listed here rather than buried in the privacy policy.

Why

A dispute that could be erased by deleting the account that caused it would make deletion a tool for hiding fraud. A report that vanished with the reported account would do the same for harassment. Neither contains your profile — only the record of what was raised.

One thing we cannot delete for you. One thing we cannot delete for you. A company that countersigned one of your employment records keeps its own record of what it confirmed, in its own systems. Only the account owner can delete an account, so this control asks you to sign in first. We have no other way to know the account is yours.

Lost access to the Google account, or the account was created with an address you no longer control? Email us and we will delete it for you. Expect to be asked something only the account holder would know — deleting an account on an unverified request would be its own security hole.

Before you go

Deletion is permanent, so anything you want to keep has to leave first. All three of these work without deleting anything.

Note your countersigned records Their public identifiers stop resolving once the records are gone.
Turn off a public profile instead If the goal is to stop being findable, this is reversible and deletion is not.

Questions people ask first

Can I get it back afterwards?: No. There is no recovery window and no backup we will restore from. If you might want the data later, export your resumes before you start.
Does deleting the app from my phone delete my account?: No. Uninstalling removes the app from your device and nothing else. Deleting the account is this page, and it works from the app and the website equally.
What happens to employment records a company countersigned?: They are deleted from ClearHire along with everything else, and their public identifiers stop resolving. The company keeps whatever it recorded in its own systems, which we have no access to and no ability to erase.
Will people I messaged still see our conversation?: Your side of every thread is deleted. What the other person wrote is theirs and stays with their account.
I only want to stop appearing in search. Do I have to delete everything?: No, and you probably should not. Turning off your public profile and any published resume links removes you from public view and is reversible. Deletion is not.
