Data Deletion Request — ClearHire

Permanently delete your ClearHire account and all associated data. Sign in to delete everything instantly, or request deletion by email.

The ClearHire data deletion page lets you export a full JSON copy of your account or request complete deletion of all personal data. Both are self-service, free, and available from your account settings. Deletion completes within 30 days for active records and within 90 days for backup retention. ClearHire honors the GDPR right to access, rectify, export, and delete personal data regardless of where you are located.

Use cases

  • Exporting your data before deciding what to do. Export returns a JSON file with every Firestore record tied to your account: profile, saved resumes, employment records, applications, gamification state. You can review the full set before deciding to delete or keep.
  • Permanent deletion when leaving ClearHire. Deletion removes all Firestore records and FilesHub-stored files within 30 days. Backups purge within 90 days. The action is irreversible — no account recovery exists after the deletion completes.
  • GDPR / CCPA compliance for EU and California users. Both flows satisfy GDPR access and erasure rights and CCPA equivalent. The page also documents the legal basis for any data retention beyond 90 days (analytics aggregates without personal identifiers, legal-hold records).

How it works

  1. Sign in and open Settings → Account. Both Export and Delete buttons live in the same settings panel. You will be asked to confirm via email before either action proceeds — this prevents accidental deletion from a stolen session.
  2. Confirm via the email link. Email confirmation has a short expiry. If the link expires before you click, restart the flow from the same settings page; old confirmations cannot be reused.
  3. For Export: download the JSON file. Export usually completes in under a minute. The file is delivered as a download link in the confirmation email; the link expires after 7 days for security.
  4. For Delete: wait for the 30-day completion. Deletion is queued, not immediate. Active records purge within 30 days; backups purge within 90 days. You receive a final confirmation email when deletion completes.

Examples

  • A user evaluating whether to keep their ClearHire account. Exports first, reviews the JSON, sees nothing surprising, and decides to keep the account. Saves the export as a personal backup regardless.
  • A user permanently leaving ClearHire. Initiates deletion, confirms the email, and receives the final completion notice 28 days later. Backups purge by day 87.

Frequently asked questions

How do I delete my ClearHire account?

Sign in, open Settings → Account, and click Delete Account. You will be asked to confirm via email. Once confirmed, deletion is queued and completes within 30 days. You can also request deletion by emailing the address on /contact.

What data gets deleted when I delete my account?

All Firestore records tied to your user ID (resumes, employment records, applications, profile, gamification state), all FilesHub files (uploaded resumes, headshots, attachments), and analytics events tied to your user ID.

Is account deletion reversible?

No. Once deletion completes, there is no recovery. If you only want to take a break, you can sign out or hide your public profile via Settings → Privacy without deleting.

How long until my data is fully purged from backups?

Active records are removed within 30 days. Backup retention can extend up to 90 days, after which all copies are purged. Analytics aggregates that do not contain personal identifiers may be retained indefinitely.

Tips

  • Export before delete if you want a personal copy — the export link expires after 7 days, so download immediately.
  • Deletion is irreversible; if you are unsure, sign out or hide your public profile via Settings → Privacy first.
  • Email-confirmation prevents stolen-session deletions; do not bypass it even if it adds friction.
  • Analytics aggregates without personal identifiers may be retained indefinitely — these contain no information that can identify you.
